Born in Petriolo on September 26th, 1889 – Died in Fermo on September 1st, 1983

Son of Filippo Manfroni and Filomena Luciani, who worked as artisans, Marcello decided to enter the archiepiscopal seminary of Fermo.
Then, he was ordained as a priest by Monsignor Carlo Castelli on May 29th, 1915 at the beginning of World War I. He took part to the war as a soldier employed in the healthcare.

On October 4th, 1919 Marcello Manfroni moved to Corridonia (a neighboring village), fulfilling the position of Monsignor Giuseppe Miti’s vicar. In 1923, Marcello was sent to Fermo to fulfill the position of spiritual director of the seminary. Since that year, he continued to work as spiritual director for more than 50 years, becoming a beloved and respected pedagogue and teacher.
